Find here a call that I address to you from the depth of my heart. Without any pretentiousness of my part, this initiative is in the same line with instruction which the Lord God addressed to Moses in Exodus 25v1-2 when he entrusted him with the mission to build the tabernacle. Moses was to share the vision with the children of Israel so that they might provide for its realization.

Having spent several years spreading the digital strategy both in Cameroun and in French-speaking Africa (between 1999 and 2016), acting as a pioneer in this field, I experience some bad moments thereafter. The Lord I was serving and to whom I had dedicated my life in the early 90s undoubtedly had other plans for me which I knew not.

After approximately 8 years turning round (from 2016 to 2023) without any precise directives from the Lord as far as my service for him is concerned, 8 years during which I spent in downcast (believing that the Lord did not have anything any more to do with me, where those who knew me had believed that I had given up from the mission though I didn’t) and prayers so that the Lord may give me another thing to do in His vineyard and the issue of Islam came on my heart.

The burden was so strong and pressing that I asked the Lord that if it is from Him, that HE may give me all the equipment and facilities I will have need to be effective and efficient in this part of his field. The following circumstances occurred:

▶ 1°- HE firstly leads me to register for a distance course with the Teleo University of Minneapolis where I obtained Master of Divinity degree for 3 years.

▶ 2°- HE then liaise me in with people who trained to understand Islam and his prophet in his least details. I learned from them for approximately 2 years.

▶ 3°-knowing that work in the area of Islam cannot be effective without certain tools in particular the authoritative books in the Islamic faith, HE caused me to be in contact with a Christian’s assembly which mobilized 350.000 CFA Frs to acquire these books. I would have needed nearly 700.000 (seven hundred) CFA Frs to acquire the whole set of books, but I at least got some.

▶ 4°- these books not being available in Cameroun and even in Africa, they had to be found in Europe in France precisely. HE provides a person who took on him to buy them for me over there.

▶ 5°- The purchases being carried out, it remained the issue of transport towards Cameroun. Sending them through DHL would have been at least the equivalent of the purchase price and I did not even have what to pay the transport to Cameroon any more. HE provided a person who was sending some parcels to Cameroon and who still had a space in his package. He took the books for me.

Today I have all (or almost have) the necessary Islamic books but there are still some to be acquired.

The mission which was assigned to me is to bring the Church to understand and face the Islamic challenge. It is to raise awareness within the Church to face the challenge of Islam for islam is really challenging the church and our Christian’s testimony. A challenge of course, but not a threat.

I started doing it through the means below:

▶ Radio programs. I host a radio program on the topic of the knowledge of Islam and his prophet on two radio stations in Yaounde. The programm is not only shared online in various groups and in a web site but also broadcast on a radio station in Douala.

▶  Physical training seminars. I already gave two of them to Yaounde. One is in preparation in a biblical school at Mbanga, another one is in preparation in the Noun division, another one is planned in the North.

▶ Online training seminars. In addition to these physical seminars, others are also done online. We have one in preparation for April. Taking not into consideration the various requests coming from people on how to properly reply to the Moslems they are in contact with.

▶ To be technically up to date, I also produce videos which implies to have time to work on the topics, to produce them, to edit them, put them online… thus generating internet connexion and electricity expenses.

▶  I am equally planning to register for a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) or ThD (Doctor of Theology) course in islamology. I already have the topic of my defence.

The purpose of all this deployment is to train Christians and to equip the Church not only for them to understand what Islam is all about, but to also enable them to reach out to the Moslems using their books of faith.

Being a husband and father of 4, I also have the obligation to take care of my family which is not always obvious. To carry out my role as a family head, I operate an ice-cream machine at the crossroads what gives me very little time to do all that I have just described above.

I am often constrained to close down “my business” to go to the radio and/or to organize activities for the seminars. It is also in more difficult to be effective and efficient in the videos productions, because I am very often wear out after my day of selling.

I am in addition a stay-at-home dad with all it takes for my wife has been obliged to leave the home for another region of the country where she is working to be able to manage what i cannot do with the ice-cream machine.

I must take care of the children while conducting the activities of the ministry and operate the ice cream machine not counting all my other responsibilities as head of the family.

I am now praying The Lord to continue with what HE already so brilliantly start. My prayer request is that HE may raise 100 people who will commit themselves to provide me with a monthly financial support of 5000 CFA Frs (about 8 €) each month to face both my family and ministry charges for me to be more consecrate.

God does not have a bank on earth and the means to finance the advance of HIS work in the world are in the pockets of his children.

According to Romans 10v13-15 that I invite you to read, the Lord’s mission has always been a cooperative effort between those who go on the mission field and those who send in the mission-field and both are necessary for the work to be done. Nobody must stay behind. We must be either of the goers or of the senders (through their prayers, their money, their encouragement…)
