The history of my encounter with Christ!

╰▶ My life “without God”.

My name is ADELINE TIOMO, I was born in a large family. From childhood, my father showed us the way to the church and for as long as I could remember, we never missed a Sunday service as well as festivities. However, being a church goer did not prevent me from living in lies-telling, stealing, lack of love and so on.

Coming from a very large family, I thought that I did not have all attention of my parents although these were very present; I lacked nothing, I would even say that they were marvellous parents. But I do not know why towards the age of 14, I felt an emptiness in my heart, I was like in search of someone who could perfectly understand me, someone with whom I can speak without fear; I needed to love and to be loved in return. I even tried to get in a loving relationship, but it did not fill this emptiness I was feeling deep in my heart up until that day, when in my secondary school, one Wednesday of year 1994, my friend and I listened to some religious songs coming from a classroom, we decided to go and see what it was all about.

╰▶ My encounter with Christ.

The songs we heard came from a group of young people who regularly held bible studies meetings on the school campus. That very day, without knowing why we went there; the speaker spoke about somebody who is and will always be for whoever wants to get close to Him, who would be listening every time and any place and who accept me as I am. In short, he talked about JESUS, the faithful friend. I don’t know how to explain it, but while he was speaking, my heart was filled with peace. That Wednesday afternoon, I decided to invite JESUS in my life as my personal Lord and Saviour.

Since then, my life has never been the same gain. Little by little, stealing and lies-telling I was living in started to vanish away. Since that dynamic encounter with the Lord Jesus in a meeting of youth gathering in my secondary school, I never left him and day after day I learn to know Him more.

A dynamic and personal encounter with Jesus Christ is something I wish everyone to experiment, for I know one thing to have experienced it, JESUS satisfies any lack or needs, whatever they are.
